  Birth of a Reptile  
 

You probably already know that many reptiles lay eggs. They look like chicken eggs but are leathery and soft. These reptiles are referred to as oviparous animals.

But did you know that some reptiles have live young? These reptiles are called viviparous animals. Others still, are called ovoviviparous, because they birth live young, but the young developed within an egg inside the mother's body. Amazing!

  Alfalfa vs. Grass Hays  
 


You may have heard that your adult rabbit should eat timothy grass or sweet grass as opposed to alfalfa hay, but you may not know why.

Very simply put, alfalfa hay does not have the proper nutritional requirements your adult rabbit needs. There is more calcium and protein, and lower fiber in alfalfa hay than there is in the grasses.

If your adult rabbit gets too much calcium, or too little fiber, you can run into a serious issue like ileus, so make sure you are feeding age appropriate foods to your bunny!
